Even within a single country there is much diversity, particularly in subjects or professions which are not strictly science based. Different schools of thought exist and sometimes one school of thought is in the ascendant, sometimes another. Economics and sociology are two such examples. The `correct' parenting of children is another. We live in an age of uncertainty where beliefs can and are questioned ± not like `the good old days' where everyone knew their place and what to believe and what was expected of them.
